A student project that needs tidying up

This has obviously been set as a student assignment, and while there's some good material and references here, some of it is pers. comm. and original research (that may have been published by now). Some of it is not specifically about this species but the genus as a whole, so I'm moving it to Cantuaria. Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 23:08, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
