One possibility of the name's origin, as suggested on the International Council of Onomastic Sciences zoom meeting of 10/04/2024 (speaker Stéphane Gendron), could be a derivation of Chante Loup (lit. wolf sings, or place where wolves howl), suggesting a date originating post Norman Conquest. Any suggestions? For information, meeting will be on YouYube anon and I'll post the link. Muleiolenimi (talk) 16:07, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
