Conversion into a city
[edit]I think a municipality cannot simply change its name, that is, by appending the word 'City' and due to its population alone. To become a city, it must meet all the qualifications/requirements prescribed by the law including annual income, land area, etc. I'm just wondering if a bill has already been filed in the congress to effect the conversion of Candelaria into a city.
- You're right, there's more to it than just changing the name. It has to be approved my congress, and it can only be approved if it has a population of 100,000 and a certain level of income. Whether or not a bill has been filed, I don't know.. Coffee 11:33, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
Why will Candelaria wish to become a city, I wonder? What advantages can it get over what it has now in all aspects of a municipality's concern? What disadvantages are there facing the town and its people?^^^^ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.28.255.179 (talk) 18:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
