Loss of funding

[edit]

Add the loss of funding from the Canadian government due to anti semitic tweets. 2607:FEA8:539E:6850:4821:6ECC:3276:49FD (talk) 21:54, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retracted tweet by Bernie Farber

[edit]

X-Editor added Template:Unreliable source? after a cite of True North after a sentence about a Bernie Farber tweet, with edit summary = "History: not sure about true north". I'm not sure whether that meets the template's suggested criterion "reason=Your WP:RS-based reason here". I can see that the True North article includes evidence, and apparently Mr Farber or CAHN do not shrink from suing people, so I am sure this cite is okay. However, I don't see that the True North article attributes blame to CAHN, it merely mentions that Bernie Farber is the CAHN "chair", so maybe the cited sentence doesn't belong in this Wikipedia article at all. I think yes. What do others think? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 14:52, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

True North seemed like more of an opinionated blog than a news website, but if the source provides evidence for its claim, then I'm fine with removing the tag. X-Editor (talk) 14:56, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with your first sentence. True North should never be used as a source on Wikipedia, at least for Canadian politics (and attributed otherwise, if that). ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  15:32, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
GhostOfDanGurney has removed the whole thing. I have already admitted that maybe it doesn't belong in this Wikipedia article at all, unless it's clear that Mr Farber was acting for CAHN, so okay. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 15:52, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
