GA on hold

[edit]

Almost there. I would like to see a few more sources cited, especially for items that might be challenged. For example:

  • it now reads: "These roads pass through some of the most crowded areas of campus, and receive high volumes of pedestrian and vehicle traffic."

FA?

[edit]

I have not contributed to this article in the past but would love to help in getting it to FA-class. Please let me know on my talk page anything I can do to help out. --tennisman sign here! 01:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Sweeps: On hold

[edit]

As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing Sweeps to determine if the article should remain a Good article. I believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a GA. However, in reviewing the article, I have found there are several issues that need to be addressed.

  1. If possible, see if there is any relevant infobox that could be included within the article.
  2. There are a few dead links that should be fixed. The Internet Archive may be able to help.
  3. Although it is not required by GA criteria (so it will not be a requirement for the review), it would be beneficial to add alt text to the images. See WP:ALT for assistance.
  4. "In terms of infrastructure, MSU's campus has 676 buildings, 27 miles (43 km) of roads, and 100 miles (160 km) of sidewalks." Since this article has been a GA for a few years, is this the most recent statistics or has there been the addition/removal of any buildings?
  5. For the history section, it ends in 2007. Is there any recent significant news that can be added?
  6. The "Service campus and beyond" and the majority of the "Landmarks" sections are unsourced. A few cites covering the airports and railroads would be beneficial as well.
  7. "The original campus did not contain many sidewalks at all; the designers instead opted to pave desire lines after they appeared in the grass." This has been tagged with needing a citation since September 2007.
  8. There are a few paragraphs only made up of two sentences, either expand on these or incorporate them into another paragraph to improve the flow of the article.

I will leave the article on hold for seven days, but if progress is being made and an extension is needed, one may be given. If no progress is made, the article may be delisted, which can then later be renominated at WP:GAN. I'll contact all of the main contributors and related WikiProjects so the workload can be shared. Once the above issues are addressed, I'll help do a final copyedit of the article. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Sorry for getting back to this so late. It looks like some of the issues have been addressed. I have struck them above, to help see what's left to complete. I'll leave the article on hold for another week. Keep it up, it'd be great for this article to remain at GA. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 20:19, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GA Sweeps: Kept

[edit]

Good work addressing the issues. I went through and addressed the sourcing issues along with some of the other minor issues, please review my edits. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good Article. Continue to improve the article making sure all new information is properly sourced and neutral. It may be beneficial to update some of the older access dates for the citations. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 20:52, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
