I have added a "{{[[Template:prod|prod]]}}" template to the article Camp 4 (Yosemite), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Camp 4 (Yosemite). Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Removing of the Bolt
[edit]Lucas' blog doesn't seem like a reliable source. Witnesses since the post have noted that a bolt is still located on the boulder. It's possible the bolt was never removed, or it has been replaced. In any case, its possible the original bolt was replaced years ago. --128.46.192.39 (talk) 18:44, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
Questioning Deletion
[edit]I do not necessarily disagree with deleting this article, but if the information is accurate and useful to people (I am not a rock climber and could not care less), using the reason "Because another article that was similar was deleted" does not seem to me sufficient to delete. If the information is not factual or nobody is willing to bring the format to standards, that is one thing, but I am making the first discussion entry and I see no evidence if this. similar articles
[edit]There are similar campgrounds in the Yosemite regio that have articles and are much less notable than this. It could easily be said that all the on-site campgrounds of this exceptionally significant national park are notable enough for articles. if it is still thought applicable for deletion, please list as an AfD. And, if it gets deleted, consider listing all the similar ones. DGG 03:38, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- further, I see that there is a long history of revisions of this article in the history, and it may be identical to "Houskeeping cam[p" in which case a merge would be appropriate. Certainly needs more discussion.DGG 03:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Keep
[edit]I find it ironic that Camp 4, which was dedicated last year (2006) for its listing on the National Register of Historic Places is being considered for deletion. This is not just any average campground, but a site rich in climber history. A merge with other campgrounds or lodging, even nearby, should not be done Dananderson 03:58, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Coordinates
[edit]This is an important article. The coordinates are wrong and I don't know how to change them.--128.231.88.5 (talk) 16:07, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Naming
[edit]Is "Camp 4" part of some kind of naming scheme employed on historic campgrounds or is there some other kind of significance to this name? E.g. not Camp 3 or Camp 5? Could someone clarify on this? The article points to the campground having a different name before it was recognized as a historic site. So where did "Camp 4" come from?--Subversive Sound (talk) 22:49, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Early on the campgrounds were numbered. Camp 4 is the only one left and even it had a name (Sunnyside Walkin Campground?) a few decades ago. Eeekster (talk) 22:57, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Source for Duane addition, etc
[edit]Danduane, please insert a reference to a reliable source for your additions. Your edit summary makes it sound like this is simply a personal story. -- Fyrael (talk) 20:07, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
- No reference has been added in the three years since the above comment. I just rewrote this part based on the originally used source (which mentions Duane, but in a different role only). Regards, HaeB (talk) 03:07, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
