Death of Jules Crespin (husband) - When? Where? How did he die? ... Where is he buried?
[edit]Her husband's death was significant in her life, but I cannot find out When? Where? How did he die? Internet sources give a variety of imprecise or 'precise but implausible' statements so if anybody can find accurate information it would improve the article.
- - he died when she was 27 (c.1895-7) - implausible.
- - he bought two cars in 1901.
- - they took an 'extended cruise' in 1902. (Medical reasons?)
- - he was her passenger in competitions. (minor?) (1903? - unlikely)
- - she travelled extensively after his death.
- - ... and why isn't he mentioned as being interred in family sepulchre at Pere Lachaise cemetry.
Many thanks. Chienlit (talk) 08:15, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- The most authoritative source (Université Paris X Nanterre, LES FEMMES ET L’AUTOMOBILE A LA BELLE EPOQUE 1898-1922) - Céline CAUVIN, Jean-Pierre BLAY) says he died when she was 27, (1896ish) ... and by 1901 her most prominent suitor Hélie de Talleyrand-Périgord, the Prince de Sagan was in full pursuit. All other internet sources appear to 'shout plagiarised nonsense loudly'. Chienlit (talk) 11:24, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
