I don't think Long Beach has the largest population of Cambodian people outside of Cambodia. First of all there are probably more Cambodians in Thailand and Vietnam than in the western world, so let's say "outside of Asia". Then, there are approximately 50,000 khmer speakers in France, most of whom live in Paris. If you add the many overseas Chinese from Cambodia who also live in Paris, there are certainly more Cambodian nationals in Paris than in Long Beach. Hardouin 12:36, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    • Actually, I'm not entirely sure, but I think that Los Angeles might have a larger population of Cambodian imigrants than Cambodia's neighboring countries (Laos, Vietnam, Thailand...), even if they don't have the largest population of Khmer's outside of Cambodia, Cambodian is a nationality and Khmer is an ethnicity, but I'll try to verify this.

Regarding "the city has its own Cambodian consulate", I think this is an overstatement. According to [1], the Cambodia consulate in Los Angeles is located in Chinatown (along N Broadway and between W Cesar E Chavez Ave and W College St), which is not far from the Downtown. 96.247.103.181 (talk) 14:58, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"The largest population outside of Cambodia" is referring to a specific city, not the entire population within the country. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.108.21.212 (talk) 05:28, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
