Fair use rationale for Image:HopeCalvinRival.jpg

[edit]

Image:HopeCalvinRival.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I removed the follwing ELs per WP:ELNO (along with a fan site I am not bothering to paste here). They may be appropriate if they can be incorporated as references. Here they are:

There is no reason to eliminate those. If you want information about the rivalry, which is the point of the wikipedia page, those links provide an engaging story about the rivalry and some of its more recent games. Additionally, the fan website is the one that everyone knows of in order to find out information. Why do you not do your research before you try and make the changes you deem appropriate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beemer1772 (talkcontribs) 07:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a reason to remove those links from the external links section. Fan sites are out per WP:ELNO #11. The student newspaper coverage of the rivalry is possibly a great source, but not EL per WP:ELNO #1. Wikipedia is not a directory of links. Please read WP:EL and indicate the provision that allows for a particular link here in the talk page before reinserting them. Please do not edit war. As you should have done if you think these are appropriate sources, I am going to work one into the text to support what is currently an unsourced article. Thank you so much for deleting the decade-by-decade record breakdown, Novaseminary. It's not like I enjoyed looking at that. It was in the way, anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.74.25.56 (talk) 16:12, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
