Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco

[edit]

The recently created page on Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco has content that is probably better covered here. Neither article is long enough to warrant having the content divided, and fentanyl in San Francisco is already prominently mentioned on the California page. @Klbrain The Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco is clearly more prominent in the public eye because the data shows 1,809 views on Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco, but only 334 views on California opioid crisis in the last 30 days. That's no doubt true, and those 1,809 views a month miss out on the context provided by the broader topic here; a merge would fix that. Klbrain (talk) 00:02, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Much agreed. There's no reason that we can't just have "Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco" redirect to the California opioid crisis page anyways. Fentanyl is something that's tainted all of the drug supply across the country, and San Francisco is not unique among major cities in California that their supply of opioids (among other substances) is being adulterated with fentanyl and carfentanil.   checkY Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 20:06, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Klbrain You removed a lot of content. Alexysun (talk) 17:07, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Klbrain Did you just delete the page I worked on without consulting with me? Alexysun (talk) 17:08, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexysun: Not all. As you can see, with this edit I merged across 6,995 bytes of content from the San Francisco page to the California, which I proposed on the 20th April and performed on the 4th August. Klbrain (talk) 17:15, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Klbrain Tell me what context is provided on this California opioid crisis page. It's a crappy article with no effort. I don't see any numbers, data or nothing. There's no deaths per year etc. California is a big place. San Francisco is the 3rd largest city in California by population behind San Diego and San Jose. It is notable, especially since the drug problem is so big there. Alexysun (talk) 17:13, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexysun: These are all great reasons to improve the California page, and merging the great content from the San Francisco article is a great way of doing this. I know that you created Fentanyl crisis in San Francisco, but remember WP:OWN. Klbrain (talk) 08:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
