Wikiproject Prisons

[edit]

If anyone's interested, I've proposed a new wikiproject for the creation and improvement of articles regarding specific prisons, internment camps, and detention centers here. --Cdogsimmons (talk) 02:07, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Warden Listed

[edit]

The warden currently listed for California State Prison, Corcoran on the Wiki page is Dave Davey. He is not the current warden. It is listed on the website of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that the current warden is actually Michael Sexton, who has been acting warden at California State Prison-Corcoran since 2017.[1]

Possible controversy section

[edit]

In 2012 and 2013, there was a concerted effort by prisoners of many different prisons to engage in a hunger strike to protest for decent health care. Corcoran State Prison possibly engaged in efforts to prevent strike from spreading, and sectioned off the striking prisoners. Additionally, one prisoner participating in the hunger strike committed suicide in solitary confinement. [1] [2] Unsure is this is worthy of its own section or not.
