Biosolid testing and certification

[edit]

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/mar/22/i-dont-know-how-well-survive-the-farmers-facing-ruin-in-americas-forever-chemicals-crisis

I just read this article and would like to know whether and how our state of CA is testing and following the toxicity and fate of these "forever toxins". Clearly some are accumulating into soil, plants, animals while others are leaching into other lands and waters. 1. Are biosolids now tested regularly before application to lands? 2. Are soils using biosolids being tested ? 3. Are lands using biosolids registered on a public site ? 4. Are organic certified foods in CA or USA more likely to have used biosolids than non-organic farms and foods? Thank you. Please make these answers public

Sources to add

[edit]

The DTSC website has a list of news articles going back to 2016 here: https://dtsc.ca.gov/dtsc-news-releases-2023/. If anyone is looking for sources to add for more content, this is a good place to start, but just be aware a lot of these reports are WP:ROUTINE coverage and should not be included unless they also have reports from multiple secondary sources.
