There seems to be some confusion about this. Sigma-Aldrich's entry[1] for Calcium phosphate tribasic gives the synonyms Calcium hydroxyphosphate, HAp, Hydroxylapatite, Tribasic calcium phosphate and the formula as Ca5(OH)(PO4)3. However, Calcium phosphate tribasic on Wikipedia currently redirects to Tricalcium phosphate which is Ca3(PO4)2. Biscuittin (talk) 01:39, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the redirect to Calcium hydroxyphosphate. Biscuittin (talk) 01:56, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hydroxylapatite

[edit]

There is an article for Hydroxylapatite but I think it is reasonable to keep two articles. Calcium hydroxyphosphate refers to the pure chemical while Hydroxylapatite refers to the mineral. Biscuittin (talk) 02:02, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The name "hydroxyapatite" is wrong. The correct name is: hydroxylapatite. Refs: (1) International Mineralogical Association (https://www.ima-mineralogy.org/Minlist.htm); (2) Mindat, https://www.mindat.org/min-1992.html Eudialytos (talk) 23:03, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
