Fair use rationale for Image:Concacaf logo.png

[edit]

Image:Concacaf logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

U17 Womens

[edit]

Is there no page for the U17 Concacaf Womens event? Maybe I'll get one started when I have some time. --Coppercanuck (talk) 01:04, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Women's teams

[edit]

I see no good reason why the "National teams""Member nations" section should link to one sex only. I'd like to encourage suggestions of how to improve it.

Separate lists of men's and women's teams might be OK, but feels clumsy.

I tried messing with template Ft but couldn't get the none flag param to work. My thought would be to provide links like "United States (men - women)".

Replacing links with links to nations seems like a last resort; I think there's a strong case for linking to national teams as is the status quo (only, to women's as well as men's teams).

Perhaps some table or something I've not thought of would be most appropriate.

Eager to hear ideas -- Regards, PhilipR (talk) 19:53, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you could try to use a table similar to the one used in the CONMEBOL article. Regards --Bocafan76 (talk) 20:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The spanish article has the country, the federation and both national teams pages (when available). Maybe that format should be the one we use. --140.212.162.80 (talk) 20:10, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relative size of confederation

[edit]

The opening sentence of the third paragraph states that CONCACAF is the second-smallest football confederation, yet CONMEBOL has 10 member nations and OFC has 11 member nations. This would make CONCACAF no smaller than third-smallest if one considers only member nations. What is the context for referring to CONCACAF as the second-smallest confederation? -- Jkudlick (talk) 23:22, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Club rankings

[edit]

I understand that since IFFHS have not updated their club rankings since June 4 that another source was preferable, so a table using Football Database data was added. However, I am somewhat troubled by the inclusion of a table from a source whose ranking formula is not explained on their site – IFFHS explain their formula, which lends credence and the ability for an outside party to verify the results. I'd like to open a discussion to determine possible alternatives to both of these sources. -- Jkudlick tcs 15:17, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I removed those now. There was already another on from another site. Maybe could be uses as an exxternal link but a whole loist in the article gives them too much importance. The have no connection to CONCACAF at all. -Koppapa (talk) 07:03, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Section for execs

[edit]

Should we include a section to talk about CONCACAF's executives? For example, past presidents, historical accounts like the corruption scandals, and other information that might be useful? 68.119.88.7 (talk) 11:59, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the Portuguese name from the lead

[edit]

Apart from Brazil, which is not a CONCACAF country but rather a CONMEBOL country, no other country or dependency in the Americas has Portuguese as an official language. There's no indication that Portuguese is an official language of the Confederation either. I'm therefore removing the Portuguese name from the lead. --Theurgist (talk) 23:54, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Table width

[edit]

The width of some tables is making sections of this article unreadable. I don't know nearly enough about this to fix it. Anyone? Thanks. Jessicapierce (talk) 19:24, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think the tables should be surrounded with some variation of: <div style="overflow:auto;"> </div> I tried but couldn't get it quite right. BLAIXX 17:30, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
