Here are a couple of consumer articles that could be used for sourcing basic procedures and issues:

I've had no luck finding news stories related to medical tourism or transgender subjects. Are there other places to look? Flowanda | Talk 05:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced Material

[edit]

I suggest removing unsourced material, which is generally misleading, WP:OR, promotional and a sales pitch. I will do so as I have time. Juliet Sabine (talk) 21:43, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

[edit]

I suggest removing Otto Placik's promotional before and after photos in the WP:LEADIMAGE which are misleading and look like WP:OR and a sales pitch and replacing them with another photo already on the page that shows the anatomy of the buttock. Juliet Sabine (talk) 00:16, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional material

[edit]

I have removed recently-added material that seems promotional in nature and/or is not backed by reliable medical sources. I have made similar edits to Abdominoplasty, Trans-umbilical breast augmentation, and Buttock augmentation. In order to avoid redundancy, please discuss these changes to all three articles at Talk:Abdominoplasty#Promotional_material. --Taylornate (talk) 03:43, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dangers Buttock augmentation

[edit]

Like most medical procedures buttock augmentation come with risks some of which can be life threatening. A total of 413 Mexican plastic surgeons reported 64 deaths related to liposuction, with 13 deaths caused by gluteal lipoinjection. In Colombia, nine deaths were documented. Of the 13 deaths in Mexico, eight (61.6 percent) occurred during lipoinjection, whereas the remaining five (38.4 percent) occurred within the first 24 hours. In Colombia, six deaths (77.7 percent) occurred during surgery and three occurred (22.2 percent) immediately after surgery. [1]

Secondary lymphoedema of the lower extremities has been reported as an unusual side effect of liquid silicone injection on the hips and buttock while thromboembolism, implant displacement and explosion has also been listed as some of the dangers.[2][3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnabelAbdiel (talkcontribs) 11:16, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this information would be useful. The dangers of buttock augmentation are many, and this article reads like a promotional sales pitch. I'm unsure why the edit was removed. Juliet Sabine (talk) 21:58, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I added it back in. I'm not sure why it was removed but its useful information to have. Xanikk999 (talk) 22:22, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Brazilian butt lift

[edit]

Brazilian butt lift redirects here, but this article does not tell you what a Brazilian butt lift is (or even mention this phrase). I'm guessing I'm not the only one who's ended up here trying to find out what a Brazilian butt lift is. So if anyone knows, please add that information to the article.
