abbreviation or not

[edit]

@Saboteurest: outside lists or tables according to what? Given the limited space in infoboxes, we should be using well-known abbreviations. —Joeyconnick (talk) 03:44, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Alaney2k and I both agree, the full name should be used. Your edit was reverted by both of us. Consensus has been achieved. Saboteurest (talk) 14:57, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's pretty much the opposite of how consensus works. a) We weren't having a vote, b) if we were, that's a poll, not consensus, and c) even were a poll the be-all and end-all of how this dispute would be decided (which it wouldn't be), 2 editors with one opinion and another with a differing one is, again, not consensus. Consensus is particularly not a majority in a "vote" among only 3 editors. Now if you want to point me to policies and guidelines which inform your to-my-mind misguided viewpoint that abbreviations are fine in tables and lists but are forbidden in infoboxes, when infoboxes have similar space limitations and could be considered both tables and lists, then that's great... please link away. If not, then obviously this is a case of common sense where, in elements where display space is limited (e.g. an infobox), one would favour official/well-known/common abbreviations. —Joeyconnick (talk) 21:11, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Zzzzzz. Move along please Saboteurest (talk) 00:16, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
