Roles
[edit]What if it fills the role of Kakuna or Silcoon as the pupa form of the basic insect Pokémon (like Weedle and Wurmple)?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 201.17.45.152 (talk) 15:16, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
The problem is, Minomutchi isn't a cocoon O_o;; --Burai 13:27, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Pics
[edit]Can we get some pics of Mino in it's alternate colours? It would help the article more than just having a bit saying "pink version". JQF 23:19, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- That should be done someday, and it should be in the format that Castform's alternate forms are displayed on that page. It will take the D/P sprites, though. Erik Jensen (I appreciate talk!) 23:10, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Burmy

It has been comfirmed here: http://ds.ign.com/articles/781/781799p1.html by IGN, and they have the actual consumer issue version of the game. thatother1dude

Different Coats of Minomutchi
[edit]Minomutchi has three different forms: the forest form, the sandy form, and the insulation form. How would one go about describing the forms in detail? Would they be placed in the Biological characteristics section like this:
- Description of one of the different coats
Or would it simply be set as one paragraph for each form or all the forms described in one large paragraph?- Floramage! 16:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- If there's enough detail to explain each one, then paragraphs would probably be best. And the same would apply for Minomadam. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 16:42, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- So would it be one paragraph for each coat, or one whole paragraph for all coats?- Floramage! 19:37, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
On the commercial, it said "Burmy" quickly.
- What commercial? Cite the damn thing. -Jeske (v^_^v) 18:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
The commercial for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime.
- Cite it, like I said, or get someone else to cite it for you. -Jeske (v^_^v) 19:49, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Burmy, Burmy, BURMY!!!
[edit]It's Burmy1 Not Minomutchi, Burmy!!
P.S. If who hate or disagree with Serebii or have something to say about WP:RS don't say anything. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sonic,Pikachu, and Snorunt (talk • contribs) 00:10, 13 April 2007 (UTC).
- It's not that we hate Serebii, rather it's that Serebii does not reveal its sources, failing WP:RS. Besides, you also have to consider where every other fansite gets its info. -Jeske (v^_^v) 00:12, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. We've every right to bring up Serebii's flaws in the eyes of WP:CITE, WP:RS, WP:V, and WP:NOR. -Jeske (v^_^v) 00:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, so you say Serebii's a fansite and fansites aren't reliable sources, that's fine and all that. BUT, has it ever, even once, occurred to you that Nintendo has officially revealed names of Pokemon, attacks, and abilities, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM are the same as Serebii revealed them? On Pokemon.com for instance- Drapion was revealed there, a while after it was revealed by Serebii. The attacks Worry Seed, Last Resort, and Cross Poison were all revealed there as well, EXACTLY as Serebii reported them. Then there's Grotle, Torterra, Monferno, Infernape, Prinplup, Riolu, and Magnezone. All confirmed by the TCG, and ALL revealed by Serebii beforehand. Then there's Cranidos, Combee, Vespiquen, Mantyke, Electivire, Buizel, and Chatot, and many more, I'm sure. These were NOT mere guesses! Especially Vespiquen- who would've GUESSED a name including a kind of wasp that hardly any kids know of, and a deliberate misspelling of queen, even though the correct spelling wouldn't violate the 10-character limit. And then there's the abilities Sniper and Flower Gift. Both revealed by Serebii, both confirmed by Pokemon.com. Now, Serebii may be a fansite, but don't you agree that a website that reports so much accurate information should be deemed as slightly more credible than the average fansite???Feats-O-Strength 10:54, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Not in this case, since Serebii doesn't say where it gets its information, as I stated above, meaning we can't independently verify anything they're saying. -Jeske (v^_^v) 12:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Burmy
[edit]Pokemon-games confirms--DSDark 16:56, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Where? IGN did, though, so I'll go change that. (Never did get around to it yesterday.) You also might want to read earlier comments so you don't duplicate things unnecessarily. – mcy1008 (talk) 20:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
the name burmy was confirmed in the pokemon D/P movie aired on cartoon network last night, when dawn and her pokedex saw one and called it a burmy.--65.54.154.117 11:24, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah... we'll be able to move this in around nine hours. – mcy1008 (talk) 15:00, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
I can't move it from Minowhatsit to Burmy, it wouldn't let me. So I just copied/pasted and some guy reverted it. What the hell am I supposed to do? Toastypk 14:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't think Burmy is a contraction of "bagworm"
[edit]Where do the "u" and "y" come from then? And don't say its because the Japanese name was intentionally misspelled. Burmy is clearly a portmanteau, of what words I'm not sure anyone out of Nintendo is sure about.
My guess would be "worm" and "bushy" like a bushy beard or an actual bush, to represent the way Burmy's coat appears. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.4.221.28 (talk) 05:11, 16 May 2007 (UTC).
- I would say that's the mosst likely, but we do have evidence that D/P translation was a bit of a slop job. -Jeske (v^_^v) 05:28, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- The problem I have with "bush" is that it can easily we wrapped in garbage and sand, as well.
And DP's translation...well. I don't mind so mind. At least it's not tpyo hlle like Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All.—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 02:42, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

As someone put, I think it's "Burr" and "Wormy", or something. CrowstarVaseline-on-the-lens-Jitsu!fwends! 18:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Hatred Towards Serebii.net
[edit]Wow, real hostility towards the #1 POKEMON FANSITE ON THE INTERNET. I do believe that if something is the best, it doesn't have to give away where it's getting it's info, because other sites striving to be better could steal that info. Serebii.net has a good track record and should not be shunned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Падший ангел (talk • contribs)
- Sorry, Fallen Angel, but our policies (Wikipedia:Reliable sources, Wikipedia:Verifiability) and the GNU Free Documentation License both counterindicate it because Serebii's head honcho refuses to reveal who or what he obtains his information from. Secondly, there has been some kerfluffles in the past with regards to Serebii's veracity. Just because it's the number one fansite doesn't mean we can or should link to it. -Jéské (v^_^v) 17:21, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
