some corrections, additions

[edit]

1./ "After his career as a marine officer in the Kriegsmarine,... he entered the career" - "marine officer" is the wrong term! If You mean "marine" in German, then it is spelled with first capitol charachter i.e. "Marine" otherwise it is "navy officer"! 2./ vM-R was in the diplomatic service before the Second World War already, in fact he was Naval Attaché in Great-Britain at the time of the Kristallnacht "events" (November 1938)! So "entered the career" is not correct! 2003:A:1409:BB00:C185:ED74:F0CD:AA4C (talk)

correction 2

[edit]

"worked on different battleshipS" - he served on exactly ONE battelship - the Bismarck! 2003:A:1409:BB00:C185:ED74:F0CD:AA4C (talk)

Many thanks for the suggestions. Regarding correction 2 and 3, I believe we need a source on these corrections since the German Wikipedia version also talks in those terms. If I take a look at the German version on Wikipedia, I read that "Mit Beginn des Zweiten Weltkrieges leistete er seinen Dienst auf verschiedenen Kriegsschiffen." So 'verschiedene Kriegsschiffe' is also in the plural. In addition, "Nach seiner Laufbahn als Marineoffizier und seiner Ausbildung zum Juristen trat er in den diplomatischen Dienst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ein." So he entered the diplomatic service after his career as naval officer ('nach seiner Laufbahn'). I would assume that naval attaché is a position of the military service instead of diplomatic service, no? Finally, regarding the marine officer, you are certainly right. I will change the article accordingly.CBJH (talk) 21:15, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
