Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."

The links used for citations need to go to specific pages that verify the info cited. For example, the first link to the PRCA probably doesn't verify that the Bull Riding Hall of Fame accepts PRCA bull riders -- you need a link to the HOF page that says they do. I will use the [failed verification] or [better source needed] to show you links that need a different source or to flag where the web site might have the info on a different page, but probably not on the main URL for the site. Does that make sense? Montanabw(talk)23:52, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Montanabw (talk·contribs)Yes, of course, what was I thinking? dawnleelynn(talk) 00:03, 11 February 2017 (UTC) Hmm, just saw your edits on the article. I really dropped the ball on this one. I'm not sure all the info you want is on their web page though. It's a very small site with limited description. I'll do my best. They have a Facebook page which is very active though. Is that allowed as a source? dawnleelynn(talk) 00:08, 11 February 2017 (UTC) Ok, no Facebook, LOL. I never have before, so won' start now! dawnleelynn(talk)00:26, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Montanabw (talk·contribs)Aww, crappola... the HOF web site doesn't actually mention the PRCA or the PBR anywhere on its site. This is who it promises to induct "The Hall is dedicated to recognizing and inducting the legendary individuals, organizations and animal greats that have made such a significant impact on the sport." The only way to tie the hall to the organizations is by inductee names. And I can also point out that the first bull they inducted was not from either org. But the second bull was PRCA. The third bull was both orgs. If you look at the tables of inductees, almost all of are from one or the other, though. I'd say at least 75% if not more. What can we say instead...dawnleelynn(talk)00:43, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just maybe say something to introduce the inductees section like, "inductees have been recognized for their accomplishments in the PRCA (such as... and source), PBR (examples and source) and so on. Then with that sourced, you can modify your language in the lead to say, that the HOF has honored people and animals who have competed in a, b, c, d... FWIW, Saw some sources: The Cowtown Coliseum site has some stuff on the venue: [1]. Sometimes articles about inductees have tidbits too, like this, where it verifies the Cowtown Coliseum location. On the main HOF page ( [2] ) looks like there is a podcast, which can be a RS, (see how I used audio and video at an article like Sheila Varian -- that's a short one where I used a video source -- you cite to where in the media the fact was stated ) plus lots of links to the individual years for the inductees chart. They've actually posted their articles of incorporation [3] (which has a lot of good info if you blow up the page so it's readable) and their 501(c)(3) application [ http://www.the-bull-riding-hall-of-fame.com/Application_for_Exemption_05-10-2012.html here] which if you scroll down quite a ways (to "Part IV Narrative Description of Your Activities") contains a gold mine of info, such as its mission statement, all the people involved, and what they want to do. (Might want to post those specific URLs at Wayback so they get archived... who knows how long those documents will stay up!). Another sometimes-helpful profile on a 501(c)(3) is their Guidestar profile, [ https://www.guidestar.org/profile/45-5083536 here]. (Did I mention that super-sleuthing is fun?) Here are some more random mentions, some more useful than others:[reply]
http://bullridinghof.podomatic.com podcasts, mostly interviews, not sure how helpful here, but may be good sources for articles on the individuals interviewed
Montanabw (talk·contribs)Ok, let me just first say that this stuff section is awesome. I have similar links that I found for NSports when I was trying to show that the members were notable and they had recognized the Bull Riding HOF inductions they had received. For instance, I found a link where Championship Bull Riding had a resume page on its President Tuff Hedeman and it listed his induction to this HOF. And, of course on that page are listed his other notable HOFs including the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. So, yes I have a lot I can choose from between the ones we both found. Now, having said that...my original thought after you said I needed to find the PRCA and the PBR, was that you meant to find it on the actual Bull Riding Hall of Fame website, which is why I didn't go looking for external sites. But don't get me wrong, I'm pleased as punch that you commented here with all of this new information and an alternative way to get the citations we need. There are really helpful links here. So, next time I will know to work on my sleuthing skills if necessary! Thanks for taking the time to find all of this information. You are a boss. dawnleelynn(talk)18:02, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the links I found for NSports - copied here so there are in same place:
Montanabw (talk·contribs)Regarding your article Sheila Varian, there are two issues. One, the external link is dead. Two, if the media resources you mentioned are the "O'Reilly interviews," then those just open a new tab to the article, but don't do anything else it seems... otherwise, I can't locate the media citation. sorry. dawnleelynn(talk)18:54, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Montanabw (talk·contribs) Ah, I see you've asked about the bull without a name, just a brand. He's not an inductee from the PRCA or the PBR, just the Bull Riding HOF--and regarding your question--Yes, they are the same HOF. The article is mistaken in adding Texas to the name. And he certainly deserved to be inducted to the PRCA, many agree but we don't get to decide. About V61 -- is the Bull Riding Hall of Fame and Texas Bull Riding Hall of Fame the same thing? yesiree... dawnleelynn(talk)19:34, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I ran earwig and it ran clean. Did some links, other cleanup, rearranged some stuff. I think this is ready to go live, so I'm going to move it over. What you want to do is to search for “Bull Riding Hall of Fame” (click "search," not "go") and add wikilinks to the article on other articles that already mention it. Montanabw(talk)04:48, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Another note to all editors as to why there is a section describing some of the inductees other Hall of Fame accomplishments. This is here to help establishment the Bull Riding Hall of Fame's notability. What is the Bull Riding Hall of Fame's claim to fame? Who says its inductees are notable? It is a relatively new hall of fame that needs to establish itself in the nation as prominent. Truly, how many people have of heard of it compared to the prestigious ProRodeo Hall of Fame. By mentioning that it is inducting members who are already notable, it is bringing their notability to itself. Tuff Hedeman, Lane Frost, Chris Shivers, Bodacious, and so on. And by including proof that these notables who are still with us accept these honors and these honors are acknowledged in the press and other worthy online web sites, this is also helping the hall establish itself. dawnleelynn(talk)20:21, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The material seems relevant to me. It’s sourced, it helps establish notability, the sources are reliable. I’m comfortable keeping it in. If anyone has a reason for the deletion, they can discuss it here. Montanabw(talk)20:53, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
