[edit]What sources do you want? I have many, but they are only in Bulgarian. :( Komita 15:08, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Please see WP:V, WP:CITE and WP:RS. How do I know that what is said in the article is true? Do any other independent encyclopedias confirm anything? Do any human rights organizations? Does anyone other than Bulgarian nationalists? Boue's map is no good - we are talking about Greece today in 2006. There have been population exchanges, civil wars etc since then.--Euthymios 15:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
There are no "reliable" sources, because greeks work hard to eliminate them. Komita 15:34, 30 November 2006 (UTC) There is a movie about the Bulgarian minority, when the english subtitles are ready, it will be published on Google Video.
- Speculation. The subject is more than adequately dealt with at the Christian Slav speakers section at Minorities in Greece. FYROM claims they are "Macedonians", Serbia claims they are Serbs, Bulgaria claims they are Bulgarians, yet the overwhelming majority of them consider themselves Greeks (Garkomani).--Euthymios 15:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- This territory has been Bulgarian for many years, there was no Macedonian nation until 1944 and the Serb`s claims are false. Some sources say that there are 500 000 bulgarians in Aegean Macedonia.
Have you been to Edessa? The people there are afraid to speak Bulgarian because they will loose their job, or will be killed, like prof. Blagoj Shklifof, who proved is some books that the Slavs there are in fact Bulgarians. Komita 15:45, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Oh I've been to Edessa, everyone was speaking Greek. However, I don't see any proof for your claims. Why are the Serb claims false and not the Bulgarian ones? Which sources say there is such a high Bulgarian minority in Greece? Human Rights Watch maybe? Or the ATAKA party in Bulgaria maybe? There are more sources saying that it is an "ethnic Macedonian" minority than a Bulgarian one, however the last time it was officially recognized, it was recognized as a Serbian minority. I think it's time to respect the feelings of the people themselves who identify as Greeks (anyone claiming otherwise has never gained public support in Macedonia or Thrace).--Euthymios 15:52, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
