[edit]I took this sentence out of the article: "According to Dr. David Bellamy, the number of plant species in the small reserve exceeds that in all of North America."
Firstly, it need a citation, and secondly, it is flat out wrong, given the figure of 840 species of flowering plants in Bukit Timah, versus 20,000+ in North America (see [1]). Without seeing the original source for this statement, I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with it. If I had to guess, I'd think that Bellamy's statement may have originally been something like: "more angiosperm tree species than all of North America." I'm left wondering whether the figure of 840 species comes from Bellamy, and whether it was qualified (e.g., as "tree species", or some such). 840 species of flowering plants (all life-forms) in Bukit Timah sounds a little low to me. 840 species of angiosperm trees seems a little high, but not impossible. 63.78.97.2 (talk) 21:10, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
