Prod deletion
[edit]- This article has no body content, provides business information by an infobox, and has no references. I searched for references and found little references that would be significant to use to expand the article. Only information I found worth noting is the Buy Low chain they operate. -Jahnx (talk) 05:08, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
References are only necessarily if someone's actually challenging a claim made in the article. Short articles are fine; at worst, providing a minimal amount of information is better than providing no information at all; at best, remember that the whole point of Wikipedia is that it is collaboratively edited by anyone who has anything to add. Articles can--and should--grow organically, starting out with a sentence or two, and then as people come along and see it they add a sentence or two to it, so it grows into full form gradually over weeks or months or years. It doesn't have to kick awesome ass right away. See my essay Wikipedia:Give an article a chance before you get too trigger-happy. Kurt Weber (Go Colts!) 05:39, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- The Article doesn't satisfy the WP:NOTE guide lines. It flirts with some speedy deletion categories such as A7. I am giving it a chance by placing the prod on it, it's called alerting the article creator that this article could be delete unless he/she does something about it. You have stopped the prod, now do something about it. If this article remains in this form for any significant amount of time I believe it would result in a deletion. -Jahnx (talk) 07:50, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Fact Check
[edit]I have check the reference on this article to see if I was reading the information correct. But something seems odd to me about it. It has 26,000 employees and 22 locations? that would be an average of around 125 employees per location.. and I know these stores - that seems very, very high. Even if it is only 100 employees to allow for a corporate structure. I think those figures must be incorrect, is there another source?
Also, there is aslo a Buehler's Food in Northern Ohio that, as far as I can tell, has no connection to this chain. [1]. You may want to disambig this page. Also, this article is borderline on notability, I have added a prod tag to it for admin review. Charles Edward 21:22, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's 2,600--not 26,000. I think you misread something there :D
- Anyway, I've removed the prod just like I removed the one Jahnx placed several days ago. Notability is irrelevant (not to mention totally arbitrary and meaningless); verifiable existence is the only relevant criterion for inclusion of an article. Kurt Weber (Go Colts!) 02:57, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lol, ok ic. I added an extra zero in my comment, but the math still stands, 125 employees per store? Wal-Mart doesn't have that many employees per store, and their store is much larger, that must be incorrect or at the least requires a clarification. Notability does matter somewhat, you have to admit. I have a little toe, it exists, i have a reference. Can I write an article on that? I think not. But as far as there being another store with the same or almost identical name, I am going to at least add that so no confusion arises. Charles Edward 14:37, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I would submit that in that case your little toe is in fact a legitimate subject for your article.
- Anyway, you have to remember that these Buehler stores are fairly good-sized, and some of the largest grocery stores in the region. It's really not all that inconceivable that there would be 30-50 employees inside a given store at a given time, and when you realize that that's just one shift out of maybe two or three...also, remember that the employees figure is company-wide, and so also includes everyone employed at the corporate office (admittedly probably not more than 100, if that much, but it still figures in).
