I don't this this article is satisfactory. There are abundant references in the Pali canon to the Buddha has being one who has 'extinguished all defilements' (kilesa or klesa) and inflows (asavas - given as inflow, influx, influence; mental bias or canker, cankers that keep one bound to the world of samsāra in Wikipedia article of same.) Both 'kilesas' and 'asavas' might easily be equated with 'sin', the main reason that they are not being the fact that this word has become extremely 'non-PC' in secular Western discourse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeeprs (talk • contribs) 02:16, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

At the moment Five cardinal sins in buddhism is unreferenced, and it seems to completely contradict what's said here. Any objections to a merge here? Thanks, Altered Walter (talk) 15:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- If it's completely unreferenced, I don't think there's really anything to merge. - SudoGhost 15:24, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Oppose I agree with Ghost -- the source page has no material that is worthy of merging here, and should simply be deleted (as is already proposed.)WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:40, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I've just found a reference, and can see there are several more in Google Books. I'll keep at it. But as a non-Buddhist I'm puzzled by the apparent contradiction. Altered Walter (talk) 13:59, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- Two good refs in there now: I've removed the prod tag. Altered Walter (talk) 14:54, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support merge Now that source material has been found and appears reliable, it would be wise to consolidate these article to avoid a content fork. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:13, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support I think the two should be merged. Helpsome (talk) 00:46, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
- I've merged the text originally from Five cardinal sins in Buddhism into Anantarika-karma as well, and included a mention of Anantarika-karma in this article. In my opinion, Five cardinal sins in Buddhism should redirect to Anantarika-karma. Note that Five offenses already redirects to Anantarika-karma, and the Avici article pipes 'Five Grave Offenses' to Anantarika-karma also. PhilKnight (talk) 22:14, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
