Location

[edit]

I added the location of the Park Office in addition to the western and eastern terminii. The coordinates and elevation come from Google Earth for the Park Office's address: 260 Sizerville Rd, Emporium, PA 15834 VerruckteDan 15:26, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The DCNR website refers to this as the "Bucktail State Park Natural Area," should the article name be changed to reflect that? VerruckteDan 15:41, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, I had noticed that too, and it is the GNIS name now. I imagine we should do a move to the new name, leave "Bucktail State Park" as a redirect and put a sentence about the name change into the article. Plus have to change the name in nav box, the List article, and the nearby state parks. Does that sound good? The office for the park is another DCNR office - one of the state forests or maybe the Regional Parks office, can't recall for sure, but can look it up if the Elk State Forest office. Do you think that would be useful to include in the article? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It certainly can't hurt to include a note about the park office as it is also the Region 1 Office. Also, the name change sounds good. I'll volunteer to handle that if you'd like. I'll tackle it this evening. VerruckteDan 16:54, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for volunteering to do that - I thought it was the Region 1 office, but when I found it was the Elk SF office, I stopped looking. If you tackle this, I will change the name of Valley Forge State Forest, which is DCNR has changed this month to "William Penn State Forest". Long term on my list is to clean up the List of Pennsylvania state forests article. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 17:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
