[edit]I had completely forgotten about Buc-Wheats but one taste of Kellogg's "Smart Start" today and it so reminded me of Buc-Wheats that I did a search for them and found this page. Funny how one little taste can bring back such a vivid memory of something you haven't thought of in 25 years. I couldn't even remember the name, I had pull up a list of old cereal and found it that way. My mom would switch back and forth between Wheaties (for my brother) and Buc Wheats (for me). If you loved Buc Wheats pick up a box of Smart Start and enjoy! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.73.204.62 (talk • contribs)

Nutrition information?
[edit]I remember Buc Wheats (which I enjoyed) was marketed as a "High Nutrition Cereal", with US RDA stats comparable to Total. In a Home Ec. class in the spring of 1981, a classmate reviewed a news article that grouped many popular cereals into good, fair and poor with regards to nutrition... and I was very surprised to hear Buc Wheats placed deep in the "poor" group. Apparently the vitamins and minerals used to enrich the cereal were in a form hard to assimilate; looked good on paper (and the cereal box), but just didn't live up to its promises, and went off the market not long after. Does anyone know more about this? Zephyrad (talk) 10:55, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
