[edit]

Hey, Just added the details to BK's page about the trademark that he has recently had placed on the Brent Corrigan name.

It could read a bisaed, so if soemone could check it for neutrality, i'd appreciate it!!

Discovered Stabbed to Death 25 January 2007

[edit]

There's an AP report that Bryan Kocis was found stabbed to death in his home after a fire, apparently set after his death.

Here's one report (should be stable): http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/fn/4502159.html

More can be currently found via http://news.google.com/news?q=bryan%20kocis —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.91.17.230 (talk) 23:02, 26 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Quotes from Sechrest

[edit]

I removed the statement referring to Brent Corrigan's sale of videos and a perception that he was a "top 10" seller for videos made by cobra for two reasons. 1) The person who made that quote has no basis for making it (he has no speciality in sales marketing etc, and 2) the article clearly doesn't exist. --Julien Deveraux 00:23, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--It was fluff, purely. I wish someone would undertake a thorough examination of Kocis' "work" for this article; local press is building it up as if it were one of the top studios. Kocis made money, for sure, but his vids have been described on the blogs as "amateurish" in production values. He clearly upset the majors on the west coast for the business he did as a maverick east coast outfit.

The draw that made him his money was the twinks he used having unprotected (bareback) sex. He should have been held to account for what he did--his use of these naive street kids he found and manipulated into having unprotected sex--something the adult industry has stopped doing (mainly for its own survival, granted). It wasn't just A.I.D.S. that killed so many of the young porn stars of the 1980s--it was hepatitis and other liver diseases.

Anonymous, give me a break, this isn't a sounding board. --Julien Deveraux 07:35, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate

[edit]

Greetings,

With an unknown birthdate and Kocis dying Jan 24, chances are greater than 11 out of 12 that Kocis was born in 1962. Why, then, do people insist on '1963' without source citations?131.96.70.164 07:47, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is one of the Citizens Voice references that says 1963. If that is wrong, by all means change it--but you have to have a source to reference; you can't just change it for the sake of changing it.

Does this work? I did a search on Ancestry.com. Oddly, he doesn't show up on the Social Security Death Index, but I did pull up a record from their US Public Records Index that gave a Byran C Kocis with a birth date of May 1962, Dallas, PA, (Luzerne county). It's not definitive, but it's certainly likely. That would also match up with the 1980 date for high school graduation. Jaidit (talk) 01:50, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More than a year later, I was right:

1962 it is.24.98.65.128 (talk) 01:01, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

Due to the recent revelation of certain facts that still have not been reported on mainstream news sites: 1) for example, the details of the civil dispute between Kocis and Corrigan/LSG media; which are publically accessible via Pacer 2) the details surrounding the murder that include the identity of the person in the pictures that were allegedly sent to Kocis to lure him to his death 3) the details of subsequent unexplained facts that have been revealed on at least three blogs

Some of the details under "Death" were changed without citations. I suppose if someone else has a problem with that, then I'll put in the citations; but I am pretty sure wiki won't allow blogs to be used as sources. --Julien Deveraux 23:03, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the references to "Harlow Cuadra" in this article may be defamatory. There are media reports in which Cuadra has denied having anything to do with the murder and has offered an alibi. Yet, these denials by Cuadra have been ignored in this article. Consequently, the article does not meet the levels of research and objectivity required for an encyclopedia. A person is innocent until proven guilty. (Anon. March 25, 2007)

The murder was clearly in Brent Corrigan's interest. In Brent Corrigan it says that the police "believe Corrigan never knew these two men would really kill Kocis". But he was present at the meeting where they announced it. So was Grant Roy, who "told police he knew this meant Cuadra could have Kocis killed."[1] Doesn't this make at least Roy an accomplice? Why weren't Corrigan and Roy charged? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.162.46.92 (talk) 20:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recently Deceased Template

[edit]

Just reverted the removal of this template. I think that with the investigation still actively unfolding (lots of new news stories today about the search warrant executed in Virginia Beach in February), the heads up to readers contained in the template still very much applies (Some information, such as the circumstances of the person's death and surrounding events, may change rapidly as more facts become known.). Is there some standard timeline for the application of this template that I'm unaware of? --Robb0995 21:00, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then the current event banner is more appropriate--and those changes mentioned in the section above sneaked in should be removed before what was fact becomes a jumbled mess of inaccuracies.
