Speaking with Brianna. Worthy of including link to transcript? A lot of previously unreported information. Wikipietime (talk) 12:10, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Critical race theory

[edit]

This recent edit by @MDMurdoch33 said that Hughes authored the bill prohibiting the teaching of critical race theory (CRT) in Texas public schools, and included discussion of criticisms of the bill. I don't object to discussing this topic at all; however, the cited sources don't ever discuss Hughes or say that he had anything to do with it, and since this article is about him rather than the acts of the Texas Legislature generally, I'm removing the section for WP:BLP reasons. Again, I would absolutely support discussing the CRT ban in this article, but only if someone can add one or more cited sources meeting WP:RS that tie Hughes to it.
