Re: the recent changes by user 68.6.74.140 - these changes run contrary to the information I have seen on this subject before, hence my earlier reverts. *HOWEVER*, I have reason to suspect that this information may be more accurate than other sources. I'm checking into this - in the meantime, would people not revert those changes?

Leaving the Beach Boys

[edit]

While it is accepted and likely Johnston quit, it should be of note that Jack Rieley claims to have fired him for reasons of disrespecting the Wilsons (he has himself made comments that Brian Wilson's insanity was a large reason he quit, so its plausable) and resisting the new direction of the Beach Boys (probable because he had a falling out with Rieley). This is sourced via Smileysmile.net. So if you continue to vandalize this page, I will ask admins to intervene. Why suppress this information anyway?J. M. 20:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's the big deal? i've read the same stuff from books. That's where those SmileySmiler's get their information! -JustinPlank —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.85.115.45 (talk) 23:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, no, that was actually a statement by Jack Rieley. Its not in any books.J. M. (talk) 00:54, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article reads like a Bruce Johnston fanblog. It's going to get cleaned up. This article is not up to Wikipedia standards. -- Elaich talk 05:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Danny Rubin

[edit]

Why does a link for 'Danny Rubin', scriptwriter of 'Groundhog Day' refer to this page? The name is not mentioned in the article. Bawm79 (talk) 09:22, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In 1962-1963 I worked as a "gopher" at Columbia Records, Hollywood. Doris Day was their prime producing artist. I did have the the privilege of shaking hands with Igor Stravinsky. Because of DoDo's affiliation with Columbia Records, Terry, her son, had unlimited time in the studio. Bruce Johnston and Melcher spent many hours recording "Hey Little Cobra".Overtime for me. Bruce was the obvious talent, His "shut "em down" sound was produced with a metal garbage can over his head.

Dodo and Bruce would greet me a smile and hello, Terry was someplace else. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.149.35.157 (talk) 17:08, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference rejected

[edit]

I have the following reference for some of the "citation needed" in the text:

<ref name="examiner">{{cite web|author=Elliot Stephen Cohen| url=http://www.examiner.com/article/longtime-beach-boy-bruce-johnston-on-his-multi-faceted-career|editor=[[Examiner.com]]|title=Longtime Beach Boy Bruce Johnston on his multi-faceted journey|date=October 23, 2014}}</ref>

It gets rejected because it's from examiner.com. Anyone can get it in? --Joutbis (talk) 00:21, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

Removed part about "controversy" and not even news worthy or even controversial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1217:97D3:2D58:904E:3BC2:A354 (talk) 07:39, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was reported, so it's part of Johnston's story. Binksternet (talk) 07:53, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I sort-of killed the Bruce Johnston Selfie Photo meme

[edit]

I decided to modify the caption so it wasn't directly its file name. And why replace a recent photo with a weird photo from a few years ago? I kept that photo so to not disappoint the weird guys on Reddit. --TapLover (talk) 21:13, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Invisible notice/images

[edit]

As I was editing this article I keep receiving a notice but it seems to be nonexistent? Or I couldn't find anything? I assume it must've been related to the need to add additional sources to a biography section. Can someone look into that?

I also wanna ask if there's been an established consensus on what head images (and others on this article) are deemed okay to include here. I heard of Johnston's input that he disliked a 1995 image of him in Kentucky but I rarely use social media in relation to my editing. Carlinal (talk) 20:23, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hold on, it looks like I'm having a glitch. On both of the platforms I use Wikipedia with. A notice even appears on my user page, is there anyone I can notify this to? Carlinal (talk) 13:38, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
