  • Need to confirm that citation is correct, "In 1941, IBM purchased a watercolor painting, Texas Oil Refinery, for its art collection."
  • Also need to source a published item to support exact birth date.
  • This may have to return: Work from this period typically married a modernist abstract aesthetic with three foundational forms: figure, still life, and landscape.
  • Need to confirm: San Francisco Museum of Art, 1952, San Francisco, California, and Fort Worth Art Association, Fort Worth, Texas, 1951, Texas Wildcat
  • Three Painters of the Fort Worth School - confirm date

Papernpencils2015 Corrections

[edit]

A few small things in the Wikipedia entry that should be changed.

Early LIfe - 1) Dutch Phillips (not Phillip), 2) Utter studied with Clinton Blair King, but not in high school. His time with King occurred when King filled in as art teacher at the Fort Worth School of Fine Arts following the departure of Wade Jolly (late 1930s).

1930s - 1) Wade Jolly (not "Jolley"), 2) Fort Worth School of Fine Arts (not "Fine Art")

Selected Exhibitions - 1) Fort Worth School of Fine Arts, 1936 (not "Fort Worth Art Association"), 2) Fort Worth Art Association, 1946, 1953 (one-man), not "Fort Worth Museum of Art", 3) Betty McLean Gallery, 1951, Dallas, Texas (not "1950"). This gallery wasn't in business in 1950. It opened in 1951.

That's all the corrections.

I think you've done a good job of fleshing out Utter's larger career. The list of exhibitions and collections should be very helpful to people who want to understand more about Bror's long-term commitment to painting.

Congratulations on getting this out there!
