History?

[edit]

Can we get some history on the college? When was it established, and by who? etc. --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû 22:15, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scam website

[edit]

This Brooks College Wiki page has been modified to assist with a scam. A Chinese company is pretending they have a college in California. The fake website is brookscollege.org [1]. The Wikiedpia page modified by a user with a specific purpose. See University12 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Misleading Information

[edit]

The "Campus Reopening" and "References" information are false and should be removed. The school didn't reopen in 2021. The school's official website is brookscollege.edu. The website from brookscollege.org is a degree mill. Be aware of misleading information. Editior1482 (talk) 21:11, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This article is about the for-profit school. The school you are thinking of is at Brooks Institute RudolfRed (talk) 22:02, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Brooks Institute and Brooks College are two different schools. Brooks College is completely closed. It is never reopening.
Campus Reopening in 2021 with Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation and references are false information. [2] Editior1482 (talk) 22:44, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Editor1482, I verified this institution is NOT accredited by WASC, as a search of their current directory returned this info:
Directory of Schools
0 schools meet your criteria:
School Name: Brooks College
Category: ALL
Country: ALL
County: ALL
City: sunnyvale
Directory last updated: 2022-08-03 03:09:32
I have therefore removed the false statement about accreditation. The article is at AfD. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 17:45, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tracking down the Brooks College Sunnyvale url history

[edit]

Thanks to Bahooka for clarity on the history of the defunct Brooks College at Long Beach and Sunnyvale.

The Brooks Sunnyvale home page was live and archived through February 2016 at the Wayback Machine,[1] and then brookssv.com recurred first as "Just another WordPress site",[2] then as "FoxHillsCash",[3] and finally as "Brooks SV" in January 2021.[4] While that last website advertises coursework similar to the Brooks College that had closed in 2008 (courses in graphic design, marketing design, and marketing are mentioned in the structul headings), this current entity is not affiliated with the college that previously had owned the same website url, and is very likely a diploma mill in the making.
