I'll review this article shortly. Wizardman 15:37, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • "was a lighthouse in Connecticut, United States, on the west side of the Bridgeport Harbor entrance and the north side of Long Island Sound, Bridgeport, Connecticut in the United States." Having the second Connecticut/United States in the first sentence is redundant.
  • "Captain John Brooks Jr." add comma after Brooks, as is standard for the Jr. suffix.
  • "the first Bridgeport Harbor Light, was an" rm comma
  • "Completed in 1871, the rebuilt light had dwelling" had a dwelling.
  • "In 1873, a request for $5,500 for the lighthouse was submitted to congress" capitalize Congress. The inflation template for the $5500 may be helpful as well.
  • Keep comma usage consistent for funds (i.e. you use both 5,500 and 5500)
  • You note the Hardwick rescue in the lead and table, yet there's no real information in the article. I'd expand on that a bit (what kind of rescue, for example?)

I'll put the article on hold and will pass when fixed. Wizardman 16:16, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can I add that this sentence didn't make sense to me: "This act was followed and improvised the following day by Captain John Brooks Jr". I'm particularly confused by the word "improvised", but also not sure what events the sentence is describing.hamiltonstone (talk) 23:43, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the issues and removed the Hardwick matter from the lead, I do not have access to sources to really expand Hardwick or give him a proper article at the moment. I really have to go do some searching to get even some scraps for some of these individuals and a lot of half finished references to non-existent pages exists as a result. Hardwick is likely to get his own page one day though. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:49, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Everything's now fixed, so I'll pass the article. Wizardman 23:01, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Number of guns

[edit]

How many guns was the lighthouse armed with? The sentence is ungrammatical and ambiguous: " the lighthouse was equipped with a 10-inch guns to ward off enemy attacks". Bthylafh (talk) 23:23, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
