Has he resigned yet?
[edit]We say his resignation "took effect" on 26 March, but I see no evidence of that. For starters, parliamentary resignations cannot be submitted before the moment they take effect. In other words, the moment the Presiding Officer receives written notice, it comes into effect. He did say goodbye to the Senate on 26 March, but that's because it's not now meeting again till the Budget sittings in May, by which time his resignation will have been submitted. But that hasn't happened yet, I believe. I think we've jumped the gun here. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 05:20, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
