Merger

[edit]

Oppose - Re: the merger proposal, this article, Breitenbush Hot Springs (thermal mineral springs) article is on the geothermal hot springs system. Whereas the Breitenbush Hot Springs article is about the commercial establishment: a retreat resort and conference center. To my mind that article is very promotional and reads like an advertisement for the resort center. It is lacking in citations. The retreat center has only two hot springs on their property, the article does not cover the extent of the geothermal mineral spring system itself, which is the reason why such "resorts" exist in the first place, and it does not cover the pre-colonial history of use by local Indigenous people. In the other article, the section on the springs is about the opportunity for paying guests to soak in their hot tubs, not on the actual geological phenomenon itself. This article is about the latter; the geothermal hot springs system, made up of over thirty separate springs, that covers a large geographic area, much larger than the resort center.
