Is this the only airport in Europe/the World to be named after someone who died in a plane crash? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.180.69 (talk) 16:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Recent edits (February 2010)
[edit]I have had to revert recent edits made by user Michaelis1888 and IP 85.216.145.111 edits to this article more than once. This is because these additions are unsourced. Per project guidelines (available at WP:Airports) all additions of new services must include a valid source/reference. Also, we use English language spellings of place names. Consequently, we write Burgas (and not Bourgas). Jasepl (talk) 11:45, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

M. R. Štefánik Airport → Bratislava Airport – Official name from website Wind of freedom (talk) 03:21, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose - Not true. See http://www.bts.aero/en/about-us/ which shows existing name. Sw2nd (talk) 05:32, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- Comment - Seems at least not totally true, the website shows both name and description. Google Books. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:46, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Support; it's the WP:COMMONNAME. Independent sources are much less likely to discuss operations at - or tickets to - "M. R. Štefánik Airport". bobrayner (talk) 23:44, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
- Support, if a bit intuitively, per WP:COMMONNAME. Identifying an airport, a major global transit point, by the name of the closest large city seems very much the way most people would do so (unless other international airports exist near Bratislava). ENeville (talk) 02:12, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Support. Bratislava Airport seems much more recognizable, M. R. Štefánik Airport much less so. I think it is quite normal for us, and the real world, to prefer to name airports according to their city, if they are the sole major airport for the city. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:24, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Status of Vajnory
[edit]The article states that Vajnory field was closed. I found a recent photograph though of recreational flying on the site. Who can confirm?
