Housing
[edit]"More middle-class homes....." So the posh houses there are owned by the aristocracy and the landed gentry are they? No, they are owned by richer middle-class people too. This is a confusion of the term "middle-class" and should be removed.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.176.105.39 (talk • contribs) 09:43, 20 February 2007

Famous Residents
[edit]Does anyone know any more famous residents of Bramhall (Both past and present)? I know Ole Gunnar Solskjær lives there, but don't want to just add him onto the page without naming a few others. Adzer 04:31, 01 June 2007 (UTC)
Tim Howard, Peter Schmeichel used to live there I think and Ryan Giggs too. A lot of Coronation Street stars, I think Richard Fleeshman does or did, David Dickenson definitly did, Sarah Harding, George Best, Rio Ferdinand I hope this helps! ~~CD
Steve Bruce and Paul Parker also used to live there--GazMan7 (talk) 09:23, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Dean, p14
[edit]Who (or what) is this "Dean, p14" in references? --Jotel (talk) 10:32, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- See Bramall Hall for Dean, E. Barbara (1977). Bramall Hall: The Story of an Elizabethan Manor House. Stockport: Recreation & Culture Division, Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport. ISBN 0905164067. Mr Stephen (talk) 12:18, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Is this the new recommended way of quoting references in WP?--Jotel (talk) 12:32, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's just one way. It comes in handy if there are lots of references to one book. Mr Stephen (talk) 12:46, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I know that. But only of the book is referenced many times in the same article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jotel (talk • contribs) 13:10, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

- Ah, I see. No this (as used in Bramhall) isn't recommended, you need a full reference somewhere. Mr Stephen (talk) 15:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Landmarks
[edit]This section says
greatest examples of 14th century Cheshire buildings
What does this mean? The word "Cheshire" links to the page about this city, but there is no information there about architecture of the area. Yet this wording sounds as if there is a page for Cheshire buildings, in particular. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ed8r (talk • contribs) 16:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Dairyground
[edit]The Dairyground estate is massive, enough to constitute a small village of its own. The estate includes amenities that any village would include such as a large Secondary school (and argubly Pownall Green Primary School), doctor/dentist, shops and a bus service. Therefore I think it should have an article of its own, any ideas or comments on this ? Sansonic (talk) 19:27, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- A nice idea, but I'm uncertain an estate constitutes a village. Technically, the secondary school is in Bramhall, as is the whole estate. How do you define "massive"? An internet search of dairyground estate brings up little in the way to show it's a village in its own right. 82.11.88.58 (talk) 22:37, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- The estate has more residents than an area such as Woodford. Dairyground has more than 25 roads, it is also an economically diverse area. House prices on the estate start at £150,000 for a flat all the way up to £2,000,000 for a detached house on the leafy roads of Pownall Avenue & Ladythorn Grove. Sansonic (talk) 17:12, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Expand it in this page. When it becomes disproportionate, fork it. Wikipedia:Summary style gives the general idea. Mr Stephen (talk) 18:13, 11 February 2010 (UTC) PS I have to be honest and say I've never heard of Dairyground. Mr Stephen (talk) 18:17, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your advice, I have now created a seperate paragraph for the estate. Sansonic (talk) 20:02, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
