Derivation of article

[edit]

I'd like to note that I converted this article from a redirect today, using material extracted from the Mind uploading and Neuroinformatics articles, motivated by a discussion that took place at Talk:Mind uploading. Looie496 (talk) 14:55, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To-do list for this article

[edit]

@Jytdog: I'm not sure why you removed the to-do list that I added to this talk page. Is there any better way to suggest improvements for it? Jarble (talk) 01:21, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Every time I come across one of those, it was created and never touched again. The best thing to do is just note here on the Talk page, in a new section, whatever improvements you would like to see made. Jytdog (talk) 01:43, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jytdog: I still edit the {{to do}} templates regularly, adding or removing items whenever necessary. Talk page sections are somewhat easier to edit, but they are often automatically archived before anyone responds to them, which makes them less useful in the long term. If I Jarble (talk) 20:35, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
whatever, do as you will. they are useless cruft in my view that everybody ignores and that just take up yet more space in the header. Jytdog (talk) 20:37, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To do

[edit]

User:Jarble about this, in my experience "to do"s are ignored. And this is mostly fringe woo/transhumanist hype at this point, in any case. Jytdog (talk) 03:34, 22 July 2017 (UTC) (my bad Jytdog (talk) 03:44, 22 July 2017 (UTC))[reply]

@Jytdog: Neuromorphic computing isn't a "fringe" topic: it is the subject of much ongoing research within the artificial intelligence community, including a DARPA project called SyNAPSE. It is surprising that there is no mention of neuromorphic or physical neural networks in this article. Jarble (talk) 03:40, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I am actually a little embarassed now. I read this article as being "Brain stimulation" where I have been dealing with all kinds of fringe nonsense. Yes brain simulation (without the "t") is altogether different. My apologies. Jytdog (talk) 03:44, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

lead rework

[edit]

I just reworked the lead fairly substantially. It's not yet ready to remove the editorial article flag, but closer, and the next editor to take a stab could probably achieve this; my own contributions being more bone than flesh, some added skin would help. — MaxEnt 09:02, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
