Untitled
[edit]Brad Lidge has the nastiest stuff out of the bullpen in the game today. Period.
- Assertions that end up being the target of some Wikiprig who comes along and adds the endlessly irritating “Citation Needed” are better left at the bar-side bull session. Rather than being so zealously eager to make a contribution – why not make a contribution that is spell checked, grammatically sensible, logical, verifiable, and complete with a citation? What a novel idea! Why do we need to know some yahoo out there heard this man owns a black Labrador Retriever? Yo! Yahoo! At least give us a citation so the Wikiprig will stay away! This guy is a ball player. He chalks up numbers in one of the most number-frantic sports in history. Why do we need an unverified contribution about a particular breed of dog he may or may not own? Why not focus on the incredible numbers he has racked up in his sport? This is goofy beyond measure.
2008 All-Star Game
[edit]There should be a blurb in there about how many pitches he ended up throwing before coming into the game. It was over 100, and it gave the Phillies and Brad reason to fear he may have lost his arm. It was a pretty monumental event on his road to a perfect season. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.127.155 (talk) 08:05, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
2009 World Series
[edit]It looks like there is a form of censorship going on. I attempted to make edits emphasizing the importance of his Game 4 performance in the 2009 World Series, but it was removed every time.DanielSong39 (talk) 17:58, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
- There is no censorship. The information is still there as I write this ("In Game 4 of the 2009 World Series, Lidge gave up three runs in the ninth inning, giving the Yankees a 7–4 win.") What was removed is the fact that the Yankees went on to win the series. As this was not a deciding game in the series (it didn't clinch the win), the fact that the Yankees won the series in six games is irrelevant to the content of this article. Lidge's fastball
[edit]In the introduction paragraph it says Brad Lidge's fastball "consistently reaches 95 or 96 mph". It used to do that. Brad admits himself and so do Charlie Manuel and the Phillies pitching Coach that this is no longer the case. It's more in the 91-92 mph range with occasional 93mph. If someone could update it with cited information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cchamp27 (talk • contribs) 21:08, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
