2013 closure

[edit]

As of July 2014 the museum is still closed. The grounds are seriously overgrown and the notice on the front door says the following:

Bracken Hall Countryside Centre is currently closed. As a result of the budget decision taken by Council in the face of the severe financial pressures facing local government we have had to cease direct operation of Bracken Hall Countryside Centre from March 28 2013. We are continuing to consider alternative management options for the centre and we are in discussions with Baildon Parish Council about the possibility of a community led approach that may lead to its re-opening later in the year. (Signed by Tony Stephens, Bradford Council's assistant director for museums and galleries.)

I sincerely hope that the museum will get a new start. Whether or not the museum can or will be re-opened, I hope that the article can remain as a memorial of the excellent facility that it was, and as an example to other such facilities. --Storye book (talk) 18:51, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Any local history or legend which is in the public domain would be useful here.
