I knew Mr. Miller when he would shop at the Safeway on Grand Avenue in Oakland in the 70's. I was a checker and he was always very friendly and entertaining. He would take the time to get to know most of us in the store.

Age discrepancy

[edit]

I've changed his age at death to 89 and his year of birth to 1918, taking out the possibility of 1908. Four major reliable newspapers, the WSJ, the Washington Post, the Telegraph, and the Philadelphia Inquirer, have each independently corroborated the fact that he was not 99 and was not born in 1908. There is also a blog post on the WaPost website discussing the fact that Bozo Miller lied about his age, and other newspapers and media sources have corrected their obits to reflect Mr. Miller's true age.

You'd think that after the fiascos of Bill Henry and Paul Vance's impersonators and Al Lewis's many, many lies, reporters would be more careful and not take the family's word for it. Often (as in Henry's and Vance's cases), the family has been lied to as well. --NellieBly (talk) 02:01, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
