[edit] The phrase that titles this section may be a literal translation, or an effort by a non-native student of English; in any case, it's too cryptic for the accompanying page where I found it. It clearly refers to the collaborative group of mathematicians who published their work under that pseudonym (which coincides with the names of a father-and-son pair of military officers). I won't presume to have arrived at the ideal means of replacing the wording I've used as this section title, but i'm confident that should prove less confusing and/or misleading.
