[edit]Most of the content of this article seems to come from the website of the national botanic garden of Belgium [1]. The page in question does not specify who holds the copyright for this information, and whether this information may be distributed freely. This is the text mentioned on the page:
In the beginning of the 12th century, the troops of the Duke of Brabant came face tot face with the troops of Meise, the 'Milites de Menza'. Both strongholds became water castles surrounded with a park. Meise Castle burnt down totally during the Second World War. Bouchout Castle has been altered many times; only the square tower, the eldest part of the castle, dates of the 14th century. The Empress Charlotte, the sister of King Leopold II, and widow of the executed Emperor of Mexico, lived here almost her entire life. The present architecture dates from 1830, the interior from 1980. Nowadays Bouchout Castle is used for meetings, lectures and exhibitions.
I removed the first part of this text from the article, mainly because it is very unclear, and rewrote the rest of the article in an attempt to improve it. CubaLibre 14:15, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
I have extended the article describing the development through the ages including the addition of figures and etchings. The paragraphs, I made are: -Origins-The Donjon tower-The first maps-Peter Ferdinand Roose-NeoGothic style -18 References and external links. Kees Recourt (talk) 23:08, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
