Thought I'd start the backpage for this article. This might be a good place to sort out lineages, etc. before putting them up on the main page.

Also, can you post some citations for the mathieu Bodecon stuff, or some citations for off-lline references? thanks.

Editing the page

[edit]

Plese be clear back here as to reasons for editing this page. The goal is to INCREASE content regarding the Bossongs, not to reduce it because a worthwhile topic has been linked, but has not been written yet. ThuranX 20:58, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that ThuranX. I didn't realize you wanted that link still. It's me ... Bill, creator of the Bossong site. P.S. No need to tell me who you are ... I of course already know.
Sorry WJB... I should have reasooned that out, the initials. I thought it was our distant Belgian cousin perhaps. Or is he dutch? I' mtired and forget. Anyways, yeah, I prefer to leave those tehre to motivate me to turn them all blue at some later date. ThuranX 21:34, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Revisions

[edit]

I preferred the use of 'formerly' over 'nee', to reflect a change over time to the newer name, instead of a more formal change, which I can not find documentation for. Likewise, the use of 'misreading' suggests accidental/ignorance regarding the changing of the name by those for whom German is not the native tongue, where as 'translating' lacks any connotations of mistaken understanding. Not big deals, but I'd like to set them back.ThuranX 02:31, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bosua

[edit]

An editor attempted to add 'Bosua' to the variant spellings section. If you are that editor, please use a citation or explain here on the talk page before re-adding. thank you. ThuranX 13:46, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifications, Elaborations, and Citations

[edit]

I am constructing here a list of facts which I would like to see citations or at least talk-page explanations for:

  • The Habsburg origins
  • The unnamed city they moved to
  • The move to Annweiler and Bischweiler
  • The subsequent moves to Hanau
  • Clarification regarding which Malmedy they went to, the region, or the town?

Thanks. ThuranX 00:30, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most of these are resolved in an essay by Herzog for the Lamsrechter lineage project. Finding a proper and full citation is difficult. Herzog has published a number of books indexing the names and mentions of persons in the numerous records of Kaiserslautern, and surrounding areas, including three listed here. ThuranX 03:31, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
More Herzog sources:
  • Heinrich Herzog, Kaiserslautern 1550-1619. Bürger u. andere Personen, Ludwigshafen a. Rh. 1991
  • Heinrich Herzog. Kaiserslautern: Bürger, Hintersassen, Ortsfremde, Soldaten, Flüchtlinge und andere Personen: Schriften zur Bevölkerungsgeschichte der pfälzischen Lande. Ludwigshafen.

umfasst:

  • 1620-1650: 1994.
  • 1651-1681: 3. Auflage 1995
  • 1682-1705: 2. Auflage 1996
