Osteoborus

[edit]

Is it the same of Osteoborus? (see here-Synonymy). 217.221.111.34 13:23, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update page with accurate reconstruction

[edit]

i think the page needs updating with reconstructions because the only one present is an outdated one from charles knight, it is outdated because the muzzle is too long, compare the muzzle in the picture to the one in the fossil, it becomes apparent the discrepancy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Themanguything (talkcontribs) 19:31, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Osteoborus

[edit]

Since Wang et al. have pretty authoritatively reviewed borophagines, it seems like it would be a good idea to follow their taxonomy and sink Osteoborus into Borophagus, maybe noting that early species of Borophagus are sometimes placed in Osteoborus. --Helioseus 22:01, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We should also merge all those species article into the genus article. FunkMonk (talk) 21:02, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If I have time I'll do it, I wonder what was the rationally for making them in the first place, the content is pretty much the same with some little changes like who named it, when it lived and those OR estimates from the Paleobiology database always incorrectly cited to Legendre and Roth (1988).
