Background information

[edit]

Background information on important companies, such as the managers of no less than 19 college cafeterias, absolutely has a place on Wikipedia. Whole Foods Market has a page, as does Bon Appetit's parent company, Compass Group (which, at this time, has an INCORRECT link to Bon Appetit Magazine). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johanna rae (talkcontribs) 22:44, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest and Self-Published Sources

[edit]

This article has been principally written by Johanna rae, whose edits are entirely related to this article, and is likely employed by the company concerned.

While I applaud their efforts in creating this article, I think it could still benefit from being trimmed by an experienced editor who lacks a Conflict of Interest. I think this article would actually promote their company better if hacked down in size.

A number of the positive statements quoted in the article are supported by self-published sources - which is a problem that needs rectifying. Either the statements need deleting, or suitable references need to be sourced.

I would also encourage them to attempt re-uploading Eatlocalchallenge.jpg, taking note of the comments on their talk page. --James Chenery (talk) 15:07, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the material in the article (since of July 2019) was written by Bonniepowell, whose edits are also entirely on this article and whose name appears on the publicly available Bon Appetit Management Company leadership page as a Director of Communications for the company. There's a clear and substantial conflict of interest throughout most of the article, but it's presented in such a press release sort of way that I am tagging the article as an Advert. The article seems mostly like a Public Relations effort of the company and I think should be amended by an experienced editor without a Conflict of Interest. Press release

[edit]

Almost all of this article reads as a press release or "about us." Needs major edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.181.118.193 (talk) 01:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree - though I can't find much criticism beyond this [1] which is hardly encyclopedic. -Etoile ✩ (talk) 23:23, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
