Minor Error in Article

[edit]

The statement in the article that Bobby Hull and his son Brett are the only father and son tandem to both have their numbers retired is inaccurate. Fellow hockey player Gordie Howe and his son Mark have also been so honored. 69.171.163.93 (talk) 01:13, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whoof.

[edit]

It galled me to find out that the article for such a preeminent star was so pedestrian, never mind the downright errors in spelling and grammar. I've put over an hour's worth (!) of work into it just now, but I'm still not happy at how scanty the NHL career portion is, so if anyone feels like expanding it, go for it. DN-Cup

[edit]

Since this is the source of controversy that has spilt elsewhere in the hockey articles, would anyone care to clarify what exactly the DN-Cup is? Kaiser matias 01:20, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better yet, if Hull is included on the New York Rangers HHOF list, why isn't New York Rangers listed here as one of his teams? GoodDay 17:07, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

118 MPH slapshot??

[edit]

Hull's "118.3 mph slapshot" is a fishin' story. Was that ever actually recorded by anyone?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.231.208.82 (talk) 21:57, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bobby Hull cared for his "partner" ??

[edit]

Hull came out of retirement to play once more for the NHL Jets. He played in eighteen games before being traded to the Hartford Whalers for future considerations, and played effectively in nine games and three playoff games before retiring once more to care for his partner who had been injured in an automobile accident.

Can anyone elaborate on this statement? Who was the partner?

Why is this section included for a player who was not even in the NHL during these years? Am I missing something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.6.188.79 (talk) 17:40, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He had two chocolate bars named after him ...

... they were called "Bobby Hull" and "Golden Jet". Does anyone have a credible citation so we can add this trivia to the article?Hellbound Hound (talk) 21:57, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed for Bobby's daughter

[edit]

The existing article says,

Hull's daughter, Michelle, was an accomplished figure skater, becoming British Columbia Pre-Novice Champion at the age of 11. After many knee injuries, she ended her figure skating career and is now an attorney licensed in two states.

and it is marked as "citation needed". The part of attorney can be easily confirmed from news reports. For her early years, I think there is a good chance that it would be told in ESPN's SportsCentury #82 Bobby Hull, because most of the news stories mentioning Michelle appeared after this documentary aired. However, there are two problems:

  1. I cannot find a video of this documentary.
  2. Whether this documentary can be used as a reliable source.

So here I am asking for help. If it is possible to find the original documentary film featuring Michelle, it may be able to provide a citation. Failing that, I think it is reasonable to modify this paragraph, using more reliable information from published biography of Bobby Hull.

Thank you in advance for your kindness.
