Notability

[edit]

Marley is a well known comedian with independent sources, including IMDB, myspace and an official website. He was featured in Boondock Saints as well as other movies. I don't see how he has a possible lack of notability.--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 23:27, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know where he got his name from? I.e. whether he was legally born Bob Marley, or if that is his changed name/stage name? This is something I would like to know. It seems noteworthy to include.Jcook5 (talk) 21:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IMDB

[edit]

@Thomas.macmillan Unfortunately, IMDB is not an independent source. the information that is supplied to this database is from individual artists and companies. wikipedia does not allow this as a reference within an inline citation. amy(talk to me) 02:05, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Wicked Pissers" on YouTube

[edit]

Is Bob Marley part of "Wicked Pissers?" (http://www.youtube.com/user/wickedpissers) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. Old-Skool (talkcontribs) 19:21, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

Surely the statement "...largely consists of demeaning...communities outside Greater Portland to levels beyond what is funny" is significantly less than neutral, and should probably be altered. 207.111.236.2 (talk) 18:32, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tags

[edit]

i have placed tags on this article because it deals with the biography of a living person. the biography of living persons has a much higher standards in which citations, references, veriable and primary/secondary sources can be and should be used. this is not a drive by tagging. i plan to do the work and make this article verifiable and up to the rules and regulations of wikipedia. as the article is now, it is full of improper references for a living person, it reads like an autobiography or personal webpage, and there are too few verifiable sources removed from the subject. i placed the tags hoping that others would help in this endeavor. thanks! amy(talk to me) 02:00, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

fixing current problems

[edit]

hi again! there is no doubt that this subject is notable, I would like to get this article up to wikipedia standards so that all readers can verify its content and statements. unfortunately, biographies of living persons have stricter rules than other articles and many editors tend to demand concrete reliable sources independent of the subject. i will have to remove certain references and external links as they directly promote the artist with sources that are not independent but i promise to try and find suitable alternatives. i know that bob has appeared in these films and on television but i cannot find any direct links for reliable sources that state such facts except that of self published biographies and articles directly from the subject. this article reads more like a homepage autobiography from a website than a wikipedia article and may even violate copyright. i am going to try my best to get it up to regulation. stay tuned! amy(talk to me) 09:25, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't help but check in on your other articles that you've been editing. It seems like you're on the right track with this one, but unfortunately it's going to be difficult: the references aren't reliable sources. Most of the information found within the article itself is taken directly from sources related to the subject. You'll have to get rid of those first, and maybe even revamp the entire content. You're right, it reads too much like an autobiography without any sources independent of the subject. Why our "friend" hasn't pounced on this article, too, is a puzzlement! Ha! Just don't be like her and place too many tags on an article. It helps no one and makes the subject article look less credible. I suggest gathering as much solid information as soon as possible and go back in and correct what's wrong with this article. My philosophy when it comes to living-persons biographies: less is more. Trust me. The less you include, the less other contributors can find fault with and challenge. It's a slippery slope when it comes to living-persons. I don't use this username as much anymore, but if you need help, just visit my talk page and I'll be happy to assist. I'll watch this page, too. Music4ibc (talk) 01:54, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

edits to article

[edit]

hi. i removed the section about his agent and the establishment. the information had nothing to do with the subject and seemed inappropriate. i also cleaned up the lead and put section headings. until i can back up all the information with verifiable sources i had to place citation tags at the beginning of the article sections. i hate to do it. it looks bad. but i am hoping other editors will be able to find information that i may not. more to come. thanks! amy(talk to me) 02:42, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

info box image

[edit]

hi. trying my first attempt at creating an info box with image. successful but not impressed. i managed to upload photo from fair use image but the info in the box is not very exciting. need to work on highlights and colors i guess. ive left all the template categories for others to put in what is needed with maybe a better look? anyway. anything you can do to spritz it up is welcome. thanks! amy(talk to me) 11:45, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

updated photo image

[edit]

hi everyone. i guess i didnt give the right info on the uploaded photo. i hope i did it right this time. i got permission from hub to use it as it was already a free image with no copyright. i thought fair use would suffice. i did include original origin this time. if i havent done it correctly please help me out and tell me what i need to do for it to stay up and running. otherwise i will find another image that isnt so questionable. thanks. ive also contributed more to the content and tried to reference as best i could from what is out there. which isnt much. its very hot here and my enthusiasm is melting. lol amy(talk to me) 12:09, 06 July 2013

Guiness World Record

[edit]

@amyami1995 Sorry, but I had to clean up a few facts that weren't 100% correct regarding the Guiness Record. As you can see, this record was recently broken. I have included all references and citation sources, plus updated your original information with additional facts and a stronger reference source. Hope you don't mind. I think it reads better this way. Music4ibc (talk) 17:03, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life and son's age

[edit]

It lists his son being 13, and sources a link that only talks about his father from 2009. I'm not sure that the son's age is relevant here, or if it was we should add the age at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TankorSmash (talkcontribs) 01:01, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
