Luminum, the logline on The Futon Critic is Mr. Fischoeder challenges Bob to successfully prank him on April Fool's Day, or lose his lease. You just changed a few words which is WP:PARAPHRASE. Per WP:COPYVIO and WP:PARAPHRASE, Even inserting text copied with some changes can be a copyright violation if there is substantial linguistic similarity in creative language or sentence structure; this is known as close paraphrasing, which can also raise concerns about plagiarism. — YoungForever(talk)04:52, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have never heard of The Futon Critic, and didn't paraphrase anything or expose myself to any related media before watching the episode. I literally just watched the episode and wrote the line from whole cloth. What you have here is an unfortunate coincidence. I'm well aware of WP:PARAPHRASE and WP:COPYVIO. Next time, if you suspect something like this and would like to make an accusation of this nature, I'd appreciate you reaching out first. If you review my edit history, as I did yours, you would likely come to the conclusion that, like you, I am an experienced editor, and since I have no history of paraphrasing or lifting other content in similar short summaries, it'd be uncharacteristic to suddenly start doing so with this episode. I did amend my summary, however, after reviewing your talk page, to avoid some future confrontation about loglines, as I see that is an issue you've engaged with other editors about before. While I do (sincerely) appreciate your concern about possible plagiarism, that was not the case here.Luminum (talk) 05:22, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
