Notability and citations
[edit]I would like to remove the tags questioning the article's notability and lack of citations. I have included a citation for an interview with the author by Clarksworld Magazine discussing the novels, which I believe to be reputable enough to satisfy the "non-trivial published work" criterion for establishing notability. The other two citations I have added are blogs, but not personal blogs as advised against in the Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources. They are mainly supplementary for providing information on the number of novels in this series, the sequence, etc. Knmorgan08 (talk) 18:40, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Knmorgan08 An interview about the series plus blogs are not very helpful. Sadly, I am not seeing anything better. ISFDb has no reviews listed. Pinging User:Cunard and User:Daranios before AfD. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:47, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi Piotrus (talk · contribs). Here is one source about Blood and Bone:
- Rutter, Amanda; Capossere, Bill (2016-01-27). "Malazan Reread of the Fallen: Blood and Bone, Prologue". Tor.com. Archived from the original on 2023-06-03. Retrieved 2023-06-03.
The article notes: "So, Blood and Bone! Let’s get to it… I sort of feel a little bit as though Jacuruku reflects a real life location such as Africa or the jungles of South America. This giant river mouth mentioned in the chapter heading of the prologue feels to have the same properties as the Nile or the Amazon."
Tor.com is not an independent source as the book is published by Tor Books. I did not find sufficient coverage to establish notability for the book. I recommend a redirect to Malazan Book of the Fallen#Novels of the Malazan Empire per Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Alternatives to deletion. Cunard (talk) 09:50, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I've prodded this but I am totall fine with anyone redirecting this instead, half the reason I prodded this was to let the article's creator know about this development. (For the record, the other two reviews listed in sources don't seem to meet WP:RS). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:20, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- PS. @Cunard Note that I prodded it pro forma to avoid stealthy deletion through redirect (with a prod, the author is notified, and the prod is logged in various places, including, I think, the some del sort lists, as well as article alerts). You are very much welcome to deprod and redirect this :) Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:53, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
