[edit]- A texture is not the same as a blitter object.
- Sprites are used in modern APIs.
- Redrawing the full screen is not more efficient it is merely a requirement of most 3D games.
- e.g. In Java Fullscreen Mode rendering strategies are user defined. Rendering graphic objects similar to Blitter Objects is a possible strategy.
