Can anybody tell me the history of the village which is under the reservoir. I am trying to find out anything I can about this. Any information would be useful !

Not experienced enought to attack formatting, but I think the photograph of the plaque needs to be moved ot he right hadn side of the article as it spoils the look and goes against the general format of Wikipedia articles of photos on the right. --TimMassey (talk) 23:11, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Have moved the photo, so it looks a bit clearer. Have changed drinking water, to raw water. Jokulhlaup (talk) 15:20, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Under the reservoir

[edit]

There is no lost village under the reservoir. There is a local rumour, but I have seen the maps from the planning and building of the reservoir and apart from some farm buildings and what I believe was a sawmill there is no settlement that constitutes a village.

When the water level is very low, the remains of some low stone walls become apparent, but because the reservoir is actually not that deep in the north end anyway any buildings were demolished for safety reasons during it's construction.
